Who We Are
Helm Architecture is a contemporary architectural practice based near Arbroath, working throughout Angus, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire and Fife.
Our work draws inspiration from Scotland's rural buildings, coastal settlements and agricultural landscapes, reinterpreting traditional forms through modern materials, technologies and environmental performance.
Rather than pursuing a particular style, we seek to understand the conditions surrounding each project and create buildings that feel as though they belong.

Every project begins with a unique set of conditions. The site, the landscape, the client, the budget, the planning context and the practical realities of construction. We believe good architecture is not imposed on these conditions but emerges from them. Helm Architecture responds with buildings that are contemporary in their construction, grounded in their surroundings and designed to endure.
